What is Cancer?
There are lots of varieties of malignant tumors - Bronchial Carcinoid and Liver Cancer and Hairy Cell Leukemia - just to list a couple of examples. But, all of these malignancies have a few things in common.
Loss of Control
Every individual cell in your body is controlled by hormones like Norepinephrine and Growth hormone from outside the cell and some other chemical regulators in the cells. These regulators will control the actions of the cell. They will instruct the cells when to grow and how much, how active they should be and how they should interact with other cells.
Cancer cells have those controls shut off. They act without limit. They are reliably active at the maximum level. Those same cancer cells also lose their control of interacting with their neighbors and then can mobilize and go to other parts of the body.
Changes in DNA
All cancers have lost their controls because the DNA in the cell has been damaged. DNA is the chemical programming in the cell that controls all of its activities. That DNA is damaged by mechanical means, nuclear radiation or free radicals. It will start to act randomly. Viruses have also been shown to cause the DNA damage that can lead to cancer.
Damaged DNA can also come from your parents. That DNA is set up to start producing cancer cells if there is either some trigger that the cell contacts or another spot on the DNA that receives damage.
Immortal Cells
Your cells normally will only live a certain amount of time and then die (with a few exceptions). They will then be replaced by new healthy cells. Cancer cells don't usually die. Even when they are extremely abnormal, they just keep growing. Finally, those cells produce tumors and spread.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Meredith (voiceover): Disappearances happen in science. Disease can suddenly fade away, tumors go missing, and we open someone up to discover the cancer is gone. Its unexplained It’s rare, but it happens. We call it mis-diagnosis say we never saw it in the first place, any explanation but the truth. That life is full of vanishing acts. If something that we didn’t know we had disappears, do we miss it? - Grey's Anatomy

Types of Cancer
The many cancers can be grouped into five basic types. Those are Central nervous system cancers, Leukemia, Carcinoma, Sarcoma as well as Lymphoma and Myeloma.
Central nervous system cancers - these are cancer tumors that start in the brain and spinal cord. Leukemia - these cancers start in the tissues that produce blood - such as the bone marrow - and then release the cells into the blood. Carcinoma - these are cancers that start in the skin or the tissues that line internal organs. Sarcoma - Sarcomas are cancer tumors that start in connective tissue. Connective tissue is the tissue between the organs and other structures. Those tissues include things like fat, bone, muscle, blood vessels and cartilage. Lymphoma and myeloma - these cancers start in the cells that normally protect the body - the immune system.
Now that you know what a cancer is, you can learn how to possibly prevent it, or if needed how to treat it.

Montona travel
Phillip Hill was telling me about the great fly fishing on the Judith River. Phillip is an alumnus of Skyview High School, Billings, so he's been around a long time.
We had KMZK - 1240 on in the background and were having a good conversation. That's when it hit me. I should let you all know about the great stuff to see in Montana.
There is so much to do while traveling in this state that I scarcely know where to begin.
There are the awesome white slopes in the winter where you can go snowboarding or even heli-skiing. Then there is the peaceful wilderness -- a place of solitude where you can enjoy nature or climb it!
There are great cliff climbing spots in Montana. And if you really enjoy kayaking there are plenty of white water rafting spots and even some great canoeing places.
You will really enjoy the things of the past such as the dinosaur trail. This tour consists of fifteen stops where you can see where they dug up dinos. Then of course, there is the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center. Of course what would a trip be without a visit to the local museum? An excellent choice would be the Moss Mansion Museum.
Here is a short list of places I would suggest going --
Natural Wonders:
Yellowstone Country
Bighorn Canyon
Glacier National Park
Whitefish Lake State Park
Historic Highlights:
Yellowstone historic center
Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center
Fifteen stop Dino Dig Tour
Crazy Mountain Museum
Museum of the Rockies
American Computer Museum
While you are at it, you should consider taking in some of the many ghost towns like Bean or Pioneer, Powell County.
There are also many registered historic places that are real unknown gems. Here are a few that are worth your considerations: Canyon Creek Charcoal Kilns in Beaverhead County, Torgrimson Place in Stillwater County, Rankin Ranch Broadwater County and Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Cascade County.

Alabama Tourism
Alabama Tourism
My neighbor, Mario Allen just got back from a trip to Alabama. He has been photographing as many national historic sites in Alabama State as he can. Mario still has to sort most of his digital images, but he let me see some initial views from Anniston Transfer Company in Anniston, First Presbyterian Church Of Wetumpka in Wetumpka and Stephen Fowler Hale House in Eutaw. I was especially interested in the pictures that he had from Downtown Birmingham Retail and Theatre Historic District in Birmingham.
I asked him if there were any places that he would recommend for my readers. Here are four places that he highly recommends:
1) Anniston Museum of Natural History
The Anniston Museum of Natural History is a great place to start. You can see everything from the ancient mummies of Egypt to the artifacts of North America. It would take you several days to see everything there.
2) Alabama Adventure Formerly known as Vision land theme park, this is a perfect place to take the kids to have fun. There are lots of fun rides to go on. All the usual fast food spots and gift shops are also available.
Just say Rampage, one of the nation's fastest and largest wooden roller coasters, "Zoomerang," a steel "boomerang" coaster, or "Space Shot," a 185-foot launching tower and your kids will probably already know where you are headed. The park is now divided into two parks: a water park called "Splash Beach" and a park called "Magic City USA" that does not require towels. This one includes a children's area called "Marvel City."
3) DeSoto Caverns Park
DeSoto Caverns Park offers 12 outside attractions with 12-story caverns larger than football field, laser light and water show, Wall Climb, Water Dodge, and Mazes. You can have a blast here. It definitely is not just for kids.
4) Center for Cultural Arts
This place is awesome. The food is great. The Center for Cultural Arts is home to 3 changing exhibition halls featuring regional and national exhibits plus a 72-foot model of Gadsden with working railroads, Restaurants, special year-round performances and the Imagination Place Children's Museum.
Sounds like something to keep in mind on your next family trip. I just might meet you there. Mario also wanted me to mention that if you want some good pictures, you might also want to stop by William Poole House — Jct. of AL 25 and Palmetto Rd. in Dayton.

Nevada tourism
There are hundreds of great things to do in Nevada. Gladys Perry, Mattie Holt, Suzanne Stephens and Thelma Fernandez got together and came up with a list of the best ones out there. From the recreational opportunities in Elko County, Nevada: named for the county seat of Elko, Nevada, named in turn for the herds of elk in the area to the quaint inns in Storey County, Nevada: named for Edward Fariss Storey, a captain killed at Pyramid Lake in the 1860 Paiute War with Native Americans here is the best of the best.
Natural Wonders:
The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park is a shady 3-acre park. The zoo exhibits over 150 species of plants and animals. This is a great spot for your family.
Shark Reef This aquarium not only has sharks, but monitor lizards and other creatures living in more than 1,000,000 gallons of salt water and other types of display at the Mandalay Bay Resort. You will see stingrays, eels and a jellyfish display with black lights.
The Sierra Safari Zoo displays animals in their natural habitats. Special tours and field trips are available. See lions, reptiles, parrots and other animals.
Thriller In The Desert
The Gondola Rides at the Venetian navigate the canals that go through the Grand Canal. Shops are located at the Venetian Hotel Casino. Reservations are required if you want a singing gondolier to take you on your journey. Sounds romantic!
The Bellagio Fountains off a visual water symphony choreographed to music. It provides an unforgettable memory in front of the Bellagio Hotel Casino. The water fountains span more than 1,000 feet and can shoot up to 240 feet in the air while seeming to dance to choreographed lights and romantic classical music.
Circus Circus Adventuredome Theme Park Grand Slam Canyon at Circus Circus is a dome-encompassed theme park. You will ride log rides, the roller coaster and bumper cars and play laser tag in a air-conditioned or heated environment.
Mystère (Treasure Island) is a Cirque du Soleil production. This is a smooth-flowing performance filled with comedy and with 72 acrobatics.
Heavenly Ski Resort is a world-class resort for winter sports. Skiing, snowboarding and intertubing is superb. The summer is perfect for horseback rides and all-terrain vehicles.
Nevada is full of history as well. You will want to consider trips to Death Valley not only for the gold mining, Scotties Castle and twenty mule team borax mines but for the unique geology as well.
If you want to really get away, Nevada offers many remote sites that are great to get totally lost (be sure to mark your trail!) such as Wee Thump Joshua Tree Wilderness, Boundary Peak Wilderness or Wee Thump Joshua Tree Wilderness

The Best Treatment For A Sprain
The Best Treatment For A Sprain
On October 26, 2007, Jared Jeffries sprained his right knee in the Knicks' preseason finale. He was worried, because without a spectacular recovery he would not be able to play in the next Friday's season opener in Cleveland. Obviously, sprains can be a serious injury. If you have ever sprained your knee, you know that it can be something that slows you down.
Even if you are doing sports like Windsurfing or Horseshoe or Six-man football just for fun, you can get a possibly crippling sprain.
What Happens When You Get A Sprain
Your joints are formed where bones are joined. The joints are supported by a fibrous capsule. That capsule is strengthened by ligaments which are thicker collections of fibers. The muscles and tendons that cover the joint give more strength to the joint.
When a joint is pushed out of its normal position, some of those fibers, joints and muscles are damaged. Some of the fibers are indeed torn.
First Aid For A Sprain
When you sprain your ankle, you also tear some of the capillaries in the joint resulting in a bruise. Other tissue damage causes swelling.
There are two highly useful remedies that will decrease bruising and swelling.
Ice is tremendously helpful in decreasing swelling and bruising in a sprain. Ice will decrease the blood flow to a sprain. Ice makes the blood vessels in the area to constrict.
Another very helpful remedy is the pressure bandage. Applying a mild amount of pressure to the injured area will help diminish the blood and fluid from leaking out of blood vessels and tissues.
Sprain Recovery
Over the counter anti-inflammatory medications will help get rid of swelling, bruising and soreness quicker. Ibuprofen and Naproxen are good examples.
After the first two days, start using heat. Heat will dilate the blood vessels and help with healing. Often, alternating heat and cold will stimulate healing even more.
Make It Work For You
Even if you are not some big name athlete, and even if you don't participate in Bobrun cycling or Windsurfing or Lacrosse or Five-a-side football or Baguazhang, you can get hip sprains. Use these quick therapies to make sure you get better without fail.

Home Remedies for the Common Cold
Home Remedies for the Common Cold
The common cold is an affliction from an infection from quite a few different viruses that have spawned in the nose and throat - such as coronavirus, human parainfluenza viruses, enteroviruses and over 100 serotypes of rhinovirus, a type of picornavirus. You can research and find that the basic cold can be caused by over two hundred viruses! The infective viruses come through the area of the nose or the mouth - often from your own hand. They then travel to the rest of the respiratory system. Here, these viruses grow and reproduce. At full maturity, these viruses cause the individual to get many signs and symptoms showing that you have a cold.
It has been discovered that individuals who have weak or suppressed immune systems, experience high levels of stress, or those who fail to get the proper amount of rest can develop colds more easily than others. In addition to these risk factors, those that experience mild to severe allergies may develop this type of sickness easily. Here, you will be introduced to the symptoms of the cold, as well as various home remedies for the common cold.
Symptoms of Your Cold
There are many symptoms with the common cold. One of the first things that become evident is that annoying soreness in your throat. The throat may feel dry and scratchy. It is also relatively common for a low grade fever early in the illness. The fever is normally somewhat less than one hundred degrees. The eyes may become watery and irritated. Also, you may suffer from a persistent sneeze, cough and a runny nose. When an individual experiences a severe cold, the body may have a lot of aching. There may be an altered taste, or even no appetite.
Home Remedies for Your Cold
There are quite a few home remedies for your common cold. It is very important to understand that when searching for these remedies, there is no one set “cure” for the common cold. Any and all home remedies that you utilize will either relieve the symptoms that you are experiencing with your cold, or simply give you a higher comfort level while the cold ends. The following are some of the most effective home remedies for the common cold:
1. One of the best home remedies for a cold is to get plenty of rest. Rest is vital when you fall ill because it allows your immune system to devote its time and energy to fighting off the many viruses that have invaded the body. You should not exercise much before you are better, or you may find yourself getting worse!
2. If you are desiring an herbal remedy for the results of the cold, you may find garlic to be beneficial. Garlic has natural antiseptic qualities. This helps to clear the body of viruses and any bacteria that have colonized the body.
3. People who are cursed with sinus congestion will find that steam baths are indispensable in breaking up the congestion. Once you have breathed in steam for a while, you should then drink a glass of warm milk mixed with peppermint. This will soothe the throat and open the sinuses.
Conclusion
Now you know, there are quite a few home remedies for the common cold. You must first decide on the symptoms that you want to soothe, and then choose the home remedies that assist in that particular symptom. Also, you should keep in mind that you get enough rest and keep up on your consumption of fluids. Then you will experience a rapid recovery.

The strength of all bones - for instance the mandible or metacarpals or coccyx or tibia - is controlled by a few simple factors. By taking a few easy steps, you can improve your bone strength.
Exercise
I know you have heard this thousands of times. Your doctor always says you have to have plenty of regular exercise. And if you are not getting any, they are right.
There are two types of cells that control the curves and strength of your various bones. The osteoclasts thickens the bone and the osteoblasts break it down. The activity of these cells is determined by electric currents. When you exercise, it causes a little current of electricity to go through your bone. The osteoclasts are then encouraged to build up bone in the places where your bone has been stressed. The osteoblasts are designed to absorb minute bits of bone that is not required.
This function of these two types of cells will even straighten out a bone that has been cracked and set crookedly.
Diet
The bone's strength comes from a crystal lattice called apatite. Apatite demands a lot of calcium and some phosphorus. That is why calcium is such an important part of your diet. Vitamin D helps absorb and utilize Calcium. That is why Vitamin D is a milk additive.
Dairy products have lots of calcium and are a good source of protein as well. That is fortunate if you are a fan of exotic cheeses like Dimsi cheese or Azeitão cheese or Abaza cheese. Ice cream, cream cheese, cottage cheese as well as milk all are full of calcium.
But, you can get all the calcium you need in your diet without any dairy products. There are two reasons for this. First of all, many nuts, legumes, green leefy vegetables (greefies) and grains are high in calcium.
Secondly, the nutrients in milk and other dairy products sticks to the calcium. Therefore, although there is quite enough calcium in dairy products, it is harder to digest and absorb. So, if you are a vegan, you can get plenty of calcium.
One more thing. If your doctor wants you to take a calcium supplement, there is a great cheap and easy way to do it. Tums and Rolaids are mostly calcium carbonate. They provide plenty of calcium. However, don't use them for an antacid because calcium actually makes your stomach secrete more acid. And take them with your meals.
By using a good diet and a regular exercise regimen, you can take good strides toward making sure that you have healthy bones. Take care that you include calcium and vitamin D in your meals and exercise at least three times a week.

How To Pick a Good Companion Dog
How To Pick a Good Companion Dog
When you are thinking about getting a good companion dog, you might think to first look at breed, pick a puppy and then look for a particular spirit. And there are hundreds of breeds to choose from - just think of the Bohemian Shepherd and the Bracco Italiano. But, try looking for a dog that enhances your personality. Look for a dog that has the qualities that you had in mind and can bond with you. The age of the dog is not really something to worry about most of the time. Breeds may have a certain reputation, but there are no hard, fast rules. These tips, though, can make you find a good companion dog.
Search for a puppy or adult that has a personality that fits your own needs and your experience. If you have experience with more indepentent dogs, then a more dominant, independent dog may work for you. However, if you are not very aggressive yourself or are not used to working with dogs, a submissive animal will probably be a better companion for you. When you are looking at puppies, try to turn it over on its back. A dominant dog will resist you, trying to turn over right away. If it fights to turn over, try to calm it. If it settles down easily, it is more submissive. If it does not struggle at all, but just lies there trusting you completely, you have a very submissive dog.
A dog that is fairly quiet and requires little care is better for you if you are more laid back and more sedative yourself. If you tend to be very active you may discover a more active, hyper dog to be more your style. If you spend much of the day away from home and your dog would be kenneled during that time, you want to find a dog that is a little independent and will not suffer from separation anxiety.
You also want a dog that will be your companion dog to be smart and eager to please. This way you can teach it what you want it to know and it will happily learn the skills and perform them. When you take your dog out in public, you don't want a fear biter or a dog that is threatening to children. Naturally, this comes from effectively socializing the dog regularly, but the quick learning dog will watch you to see who is the "bad guy" and who is a friend.
Dogs can be superb companions with the right personality type for your needs. Also, while many feel that only young dogs can be trained, this is not true. Many older dogs are saved from shelters daily and they are trained quite easily. The key to getting a well behaved companion is bonding with it. When you have bonded with your dog, it will cater to your needs. They will want to anticipate what your desires and will even search for ways to communicate with you. If you are attentive, you and your dog can establish your own special form of communication and this can give you a companion dog (even the Australian Terrier or West Highland White Terrier that is all you could hope for.

How To Choose A Dog That Can Be Easily Trained
How To Choose A Dog That Can Be Easily Trained
If you are shopping for a new pet dog you naturally gravitate toward one that will be a good companion, but you surely will want one that can be easily trained. When you are working on training a dog whether it's a Black and Tan or a MalteseMagyar Agar that can be trained easily, it will make your efforts much more simple when you are paper training it and teaching it simple manners. While a dog that has more resistance to training can pose some difficulties in training, they can be trained by someone who is experienced in dog handing. But, if you are just getting started with dog training, you will get going a lot faster if you find one that is easy to train. When searching for this type of dog, there are a few things that you will want to look for in disposition, breed and age.
Personality
It is generally believed that a calmer dog is quite a bit easier to train. But, while it may be a bit simpler to hold this type of dog's attention, an exuberant, hyper dog can also be easy to train if you have some patience. The key is to lay your hands on a dog that bonds with you. When you bond with a dog and that dog becomes your shadow because it is so devoted to you, it will simply do anything for you. A dog that is bonded to its owner is the very easiest to train, regardless of whether it is excitable or placid, dominant or submissive.
A submissive dog will usually pose fewer hardships in training than a dominant one will. To discover if your dog is submissive, look him or her in the eyes. If your dog looks away before you do, that indicates submission. With miniature dogs and puppies, hold the dog and turn it over so that its belly is exposed. A submissive dog will just remain there and allow you to turn them over. A dominant dog will resist you, trying to turn over right away.
Breed
Your choice of breeds is huge - Croatian Mountain Dog and Lucas Terrier and Manchester Terrier and Spitz to name a few.
Different breeds are known for their ease of training. Labs and Golden Retrievers are very popular because they are so simple to train. However, the bully breeds are very intelligent and will become your best friend. This includes American bulldogs, pit bulls and English bulldogs. Corgis, Australian shepherds, German shepherds and Dobermans are dogs that are usually quite easy to train. Terriers and notorious for being "hard headed," but they can be taught and they pick up new skills quickly, especially if they see that they will benefit such as offering them a treat. Mixed breed dogs can often make excellent pets that are extremely easy to train.
Age
The old truism is that you can't teach an old dog a new trick and most folks believe that adult dogs can't be trained, but that is not true at all. Quite a large number of adult dogs learn even faster than puppies. Adult dogs often have a better attention span than puppies and they are more stable. Adult dogs can make great pets and can prove to be very easy to train so you might consider checking out an animal shelter.
When you look for a dog, look for one that responds to you. If you find that special dog that you can bond with, it will make make training a breeze.

Training Your Dog for Hollywood
When you were watching that movie last night, you may have seen a Bergamasco or a Pastor Garafiano or a Cão da Serra da Estrela. Now, the question in the back of your mind is - 'Is my Qimmiq ready to be in the movies?' Ok, everyone has said that your dog is just the most talented dog they know of. This dog even can tell how and when to mug for a picture, a regular scene steeler with a personality that would have given Lassie a good run for her money.
Ok, but she needs one more thing. If you really want your dog to be the future best canine in a real Hollywood television series, your pooch can't just look cute and like cameras. Your dog will have to be well trained and know, not just the basics, but a few great tricks for the tryouts.
Most of the scenes you see dogs doing on TV look so great because Hollywood has a way of putting the dog's tricks to good use and making the shots work. They combine them as a series of tricks into a final production that works for a particular scene very well.
It's the basic tricks that are going to land your dog a movie role. There are many companies all over that offer the workshops needed to get your puppy the tricks and obedience that are needed by canine actors.
Almost all of what dogs do on TV are simple tricks. Most of the common tricks the dogs need to do on demand are bow, roll over, back up, turn out the light, sneeze, wave, play dead, crawl, speak on cue, pray, hide your eyes, find it and whimper.
Having your dog learn all of the skills might be the simple part of what is needed for the movies. The tough one for lots of dogs is working on a set with strangers all around and a lot of distractions. Also, in most cases, your dog will need to follow the lead of the set's dog trainer, not you. These are some daunting obstacles for some dogs to overcome.
If your dog can learn all the tricks, but also the Hollywood basics of working with strangers on film sets without forgetting everything you taught her, you might just have a dog like D.J., a Siberian Husky who played the roles of Demon in Snow Dogs and Max in Eight Below.
Now... your puppy is ready and able to go to the movies. What do you do now? The most important step is to create a compelling portfolio for your dog. All the current photos, his list of tricks, training and hopefully some great videos of your dog doing some of his best tricks.
Many of the training schools for movie dogs will show you how to get your dog into the industry. Don't forget there is a tremendous volume of advertising for your aspiring mongrel to shoot for also.
The final word - your dog adores you (hopefully, the feeling is mutual). If your dog does not have fun with the Hollywood thing and does not want to be a television star, your dog will tell you about it. Watch your pal and make sure she is having fun - it will show.

Acne Remedies
Acne Remedies
Gerald Mckinney just noticed his first facial pimple before going to his Physical Education class. You can just imagine his embarassment as he thought everyone was staring at him. Fortunately for Gerald there are great things he can do for his acne.
Acne can affect you at any time and any place, throwing zits your way without regard to race or gender. Most people that {suffer|suffers| from acne, though, are adults and young adults, aged 12 to 24. About eighty percent of people who fall within this group get some acne and of those about 26% will experience permanent scarring that can be anything from mild to very significant.
Adults, though, are not guaranteed freedom from the effects of acne. The American Dermatologist Association reports that about 20% of all those over the age of 24 have active acne lesions. This means that the fact that 60 million Americans, teens through adults have active acne skin lesions and 20 million of those have acne that is severe enough to cause permanent scars. Surprisingly, only 10% of those affected with acne will seek help, but this is partly caused by the social stigma that acne carries.
There is reason to have hope, though, for those afflicted by acne. Once you have learned what causes acne, the things that work and the things that won't help and how to prevent acne, you can take steps to get skin that is glowing and clear.
What Causes Acne?
While acne is not contagious, there are several things that do increase your chances of having acne skin lesions. Simply put, acne is caused when the sebaceous glands produce excess oil. Other causes might include:
* An inherited tendency towards acne or genetics * Over washing the skin * Stress and anxiety * Physical irritation * Some illnesses * Hormones and hormone imbalances * Cosmetics that are oil based * Humidity * Poor cleansing of the skin
Don’t Waste your Time and Money
While some acne remedies work, many don't. When buying an over the counter remedy, be on your guard. Lots of the acne products on the shelves today have harsh components that can really dry out your skin, and could even make your acne worse. Pick out your cleansing and acne treatment products with care and look for products that are soothing.
What Really Works
Four things really do work for acne. Together they pack a powerful punch to make acne a former problem.
* Healthy diet * Proper cleansing * Water * Adequate sleep
To treat acne you currently are suffering from, try natural products such as tea tree oil which has strong antiseptic properties and is quite effective. Witch hazel is an effective skin toner and it can give you a healthy glow. Mint is a good spot treatment, especially for cystic acne. It will cool and sooth the skin while killing bacteria.
A good cleansing and firming mask that you can make with minimal effort is an egg white and corn starch mask. Make a paste with the egg white and corn starch. Apply to your clean skin and allow to dry. Remove it after it dries with a wet washcloth and then rinse. You will end up with glowing, clear skin.
An Ounce of Prevention…
Prevention will definitely help you avoid acne in the first place. The best way to avoid acne is to take good care of yourself. A simple, diet without much fat that includes plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains will help keep your skin free of zits. Dark green leafy vegetables, like broccoli, are strong acne fighters. You should also drink plenty of fresh water to keep your body hydrated. Getting enough sleep is another known beauty secret. Doctors recommend approximately seven hours of sleep a night.
One final thing, proper washing of your skin is necessary for keeping it clear. Take time to cleanse your skin every day. If you wear cosmetics, remove it each nightbefore retiring. When you wash your skin, use a cleanser that is gentle and be sure that the water is not too hot. Don’t over cleanse or scrub because that can make your acne worse. Rinse completely and blot dry with a clean towel. When you take the steps to prevent acne, you won’t have to hide those blemishes.

Treating Dry Skin
Treating Dry Skin
Gwendolyn Taylor just returned from skiarea and was filling in her friend Lisa Perry about the terrible issues she had with dry skin on the slopes. Lisa told her that she had exactly the same skin problem at Termignon-la-Vanoise, France. Another skiier explained the three ways that will keep your skin in good condition in nasty winter weather. She expects to use that on her trip to Somport, Pyrenees, France on her next vacation.
Winter is the roughest time on our skin. Lots of people suffer with itchy, cracked, dry and painful skin. Flocking out to the nearest store to buy the most advertised healing lotions and creams to help soothe the pain and heal the flaking for moments of relief. Unfortunately many victims are missing the vital and simple methods to not only get relief from dry, chapped and cracked skin, but also can go a long way to prevent it.
People are made up primarily of water. For some reason, in the winter months, we overlook the need to make sure that we are drinking enough water. During summer, when we are losing fluids through sweat and exerting ourselves, we realize that we need to drink water to replace the same amount of water that we lost. During the winter the cold air does much the same to our body. It sucks that moisture right out of us. This then dries and cracks our skin, leaving it dry and itchy. Making sure that you drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day will improve the chances in the fight over your dried out and cracked skin. Try it for the next two weeks and you will undoubtedly see a noticeable positive change in your skin in a matter of days.
On the same topic of the necesity of moisture, a good moisturizing cream is also a good idea. Find one that is appropriate for your skin type so that you aren’t going to end up with oily skin. I recommend a cream more than a lotion in the winter, since a cream is thicker and more protective of the skin. You should also spend a minute to read the label. The cream or lotion that you use in the summer may not even help in the winter. Stay away from a cream or lotion with alcohol in the first few ingredients, as alcohol is a drying agent.
Dress appropriately in the cold. Before you laugh at this and scratch your head over what clothing has to do with battling dry skin, think this one over. The more exposed areas of skin that you have increases the opportunity that the cold has to suck the moisture. It is also a good idea to try to layer your clothes and let that inner layer be clothes that are made out of cotton. Cotton will let you skin breathe, will keep you warm and won’t irritate your skin.
By following these three easy methods, you will not only start getting relief from that really dry skin, an not only that you will prevent your skin from becoming dry. Plenty of fluids, the proper moisturizing cream and the right clothing and you will have moist, healthy and glowing skin to be in.

Business Plans for Smaller Organizations
If you are a small business owner whether you are the Actuary or Screenwriter, there is really a lot more pressure on you to be organized, rather than less. Even though a bit of spontaneity is beneficial and expected of small business, structure and planning is imperative if you will try to compete with what bigger corporations offer. Take some time to really consider the scope of your business and write it down. This can give you a significant idea of what your obstacles are, your current status, what your 10 year plan is, and how close you are to realizing them.
The most important thing is to make sure to get every detail down on paper. This gives you a concrete beginning, and something solid to alter if things need to be changed later on. The initial business plan can guarantee that you, your hired employees, and your investors are all together in their thinking.
The first thing to put on your page is a description of your business. This includes what you do, services that you plan to provide and what any products you plan to produce. Basically, this will serve as the scope of your business. While it can certainly get expanded later on, you will discover that writing down of your limits and terms is incredibly helpful for more development. This is also a good place to include what kind of end game you have. While they can be broad plans that you want to abide by, you should build on it with some rough financial figures that you are hoping to see.
You small business plan next should analyze the market, both where it stands and where you will fit in. Why is your service necessary and how is your product going to affect the market? How are you going to draw attention to it and what sort of impact will it have on various different types of consumers? This section essentially “proves” your business has a reason for being and gives evidence for why it should be funded, so take the time you need to polish it.
Finances are the next thing that you need to tackle. Include general expenses, contingency fees, licensing fees if necessary and anything else that will require money. Because most loan officers will ask to peruse your business plan primarily for this area, this is an important one to have buttoned down. If you are a bit new to this, look at small business plans from similar established businesses to see the way that your competition has set things up. Although an accurate view of your business where it stands is important, don't forget to look to the future.
Finally, think about management. Who is running things, and separate out their responsibilities? This is a good method to maintain your organziation and identify responsibilities. Like the other area of your small business plan, this section can be changed, but the important thing is to have it there in the first place.
Take as much effort as it takes to be confident that your business plan is up to snuff, and you will find that your own business will start out the way you want it much faster.

How to Run a Bed & Breakfast
How to Run a Bed & Breakfast
Just trying to get a room makes you realize that bed and breakfasts are popular all over the country and you might even run across one in Dominican Republic. Why are they so popular? A private and attractive guest room, private bathroom, fluffy towels, an excellent hot breakfast, and a great place just to relax are some of the premiere reasons people pick a bed and breakfast instead of a motel.
Have you really thought about establishing your own bed and breakfast operation? It's not as routine as fixing up a couple of guest rooms, cooking a few meals and opening your doors. There are a couple of requirements to meet before moving forward with your own bed and breakfast ideals.
A tremendous place to begin is to get some experience in a prosperous bed and breakfast. Spend three or four months with a skilled innkeeper and you'll know first hand everything that is required for opening your own B&B.
If you are still interested after that, you'll need to decide whether or not you have the personality it takes to operate a bed and breakfast. You'll be working with all kinds of people from all fiancial backgrounds every day. Take into consideration also that you'll be getting up early, dealing with contractors and vendors, completing paperwork, cleaning, marketing your business, answering the phone and interacting with your guests.
Pick out a locale for your bed and breakfast. Not only that, but you should decide whether you'll live in a separate location or in your B&B. Talk to the city about zoning regulations that govern businesses at your chosen location. Get guarantees that you'll be able to serve the food you want to spread in front of your guests. Figure out how many guests you can accommodate within your establishment.
A business plan is vital to your success. An excellent resource is the American Bed and Breakfast Association. They will provide you with all the bits and pieces that you'll need to set up your business. Advertising needs to be in place well ahead of opening. Make sure your prices are comparative with others in your area.
Your guests are obviously the number one priority when it comes to running your own B&B. Treat every guest as someone special and appreciated. Providing the best service and being picky with details are necessary to a prosperous B&B. The rooms should have the white glove inspection and be comfortable and attractive. Make breakfast memorable, complete with hot and cold items, and (of course) be delicious. Guests who wish they could stay extra days will praise your B&B to their co-workers and they will also try to come back again. Come up with a special event or service the guests will remember.
A bed and breakfast is a special type of business that will bring people from every continent to your doorstep. Calculate the cost to your personal life and finances, and then tackle it if you decide that it is the right choice for you. Above all, take joy in your endeaver!
